Councillor Edward Massey
Green Party Councillor
I am born and bred in Chelmsford. I went away for my university studies and stayed on to do Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance, which I self-funded. I have worked in Galleywood and had the privilege to serve the people of Galleywood as a Parish Councillor for five years until May 2023 when I was elected to Writtle Parish.

Homelessness is a cause close to my heart, so you will often find me living out socialism by volunteering at the local homeless shelter and fulfilling my other purpose in life.

Libraries Closures
Everyone Counts
I joined with all those that value our public services, in the save our NHS march and the libraries with SOLE (Save Our Libraries Essex) rallies in 2018-2019 to stand in solidarity with the young to old that love for reading and are passionate about maintaining our library services against the real threat of our libraries closing.
Carbon Emissions 2019
Spoke up as a member of the public at Chelmsford City Full Council meeting on 16/07/2019 saying that their proposal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2030 didn't go far enough and recommended a minus-zero target by that time. But Chelmsford City Council at least unanimously adopted a net-zero target at that council meeting
Climate Injustice 2019
On 20/09/2019 I joined the day of Global Climate Change rally in London as climate injustice is upon us and we politicians, corporations and individuals alike need to be take its affects seriously. I want to be able say in years to come to the children of tomorrow that we knew about Climate Change and I did my best to do something about it!
