City Ward By-Election for Moulsham and Central
Vote for Edward Massey
on Thursday 01/05/2025
There is the potential for your City Council in the next few years to start borrowing in order to maintain current services, with income not keeping up expenditure along with local councils funding from central government being squeezed to. This would mean having to pay back this money in the future, which isn't good financial stewardship. Vote Green to hold the City Council accountable for its financial stability and protect your local public services.

We are seeing with this Liberal Democrat control City Council is overspend on the Chelmsford Theatre and the ever more growing list of additional charges such as the brown bins collection charge for green garden waste and Chelmsford Museum admission fee. A few years ago the introduction of car parking charges at Hylands House/Park to go and use our green spaces for our physical and mental wellbeing.
Good to know: Your City Councillors are responsible for recycling collections; public conveniences; cleaning and parking on our streets (even though outsourced); public spaces and local environment; local planning and development permission; License activities; crematorium services.

We as Green candidates want to address the housing crisis (homelessness and unaffordable). See improved public transport, which should bring about less traffic and reduced pollution. Have good quality local public services along with things done more sustainably, where people and our ecosystem flourish together.
